This simple DIY iPad Holder Saves You Big Bucks

When my son was first born my wife and I stated that we wouldn’t be one of those parents who let their kid watch an iPad every time we traveled just to make our life easier. This life affirming statement only stayed said true until we took our first trip.

Now that my child is two (it seems like just yesterday that I was getting up at 1am for bottle feedings) the hard part of giving him an iPad isn’t because of a moral dilemma, but over how long it would take him to get the iPad locked while holding it; forcing us to reach back and fix it while on the road.

There are dozens of various cases and holders available on the market (some priced $40 or higher) but if you want something that’s a quick fix and hardly costs a thing, then go this route. You won’t win style points but your budget will thank you.

This is how I made a DIY iPad holder for the car. It took less than five minutes to make and cost less than a dollar in parts.

You’ll need:

1) Gallon sized freezer bag

2)The head rest of the car you plan to use this in

3) Pen

STEP 5

DONE!!!

Now step back and admire your work. If you wife asks tell her this project took four hours and three trips to Home Depot

PS - I’ve found it makes your life easier to place the “seam side” facing the middle so the IPad can easily slid out if needed.
